Paul Chelimo Will Race the Mile and 3,000 Meters at Camel City Elite

Paul Chelimo has confirmed he will race both the mile and 3,000 meters at the Camel City Elite this weekend, according to meet organizers.

It's been a wild last 24 hours and my head is now spinning even more as @Paulchelimo has confirmed that he plans to double the 3k/mile at #CamelCityElite vs @KingCheserek @craigathor @HWynning @Leomanzano & @ErassaOk He will have about 45-50 minutes between races.

The possibility of Chelimo doubling had been hinted at previously. He will have about 50 minutes between the two races, with the 3,000 meters coming first.

Chelimo has become one of American's top distance runners on the track in the past two years, earning an Olympic silver medal in 2016. He followed that up with a bronze medal performance at the 2017 IAAF World Outdoor Championships, also in the 5,000 meters.
